Nope. Not like that, you perv. Like this...
Thanks to the recommendation of the lovely Francheska of Hey Fran Hey I picked up this incredible Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay last week at Whole Foods. I love a good face mask and usually rely on my old faithful, Queen Helene's Mint Julep. This mask makes Queen Helene looks like tap water! (I'm not hating on QH either, I seriously love it. This is just on a different level.)
It's a simple process, just mix powdered clay with apple cider vinegar or water in equal parts, slather on your awaiting skin, and wait for the magic to begin. It really does suck all of the impurities out of your face and cause a pulsating sensation. I love imagining all of the gross shit being pulled out of my pores!! Yeaaaaah!
Anyway, my fifteen year old and I loved our results and plan to do this weekly. My skin was softer, firmer, and cleaner than I remember it feeling in a looooong time. I also had a couple bumps on my face that dried up overnight after using this mask. I'm sitting with it on my face again as we speak and I wish I could smile. (But ummm, its real tight!) This go round I added 5 drops of tea tree essential oil and a bit of honey to the mixture. Can't hurt!
I highly recommend this all natural face mask. I can't get enough!
Let me know if you test it out for yourself.
XO,
LJ

I'm intrigued by this! I too have a tube of Queen Helene's. I love the way it smells. If you don't mind me asking, what type of skin do you have? I've got combination and sometimes trying new things can seriously send it out of whack. Would love to try this though!
ReplyDeleteQueen Helene's smells so good! ( A million times better than vinegar, for sure.) I have combination skin. An oily t zone and acne prone. I had some doozy cystic acne underneath the skin on my cheeks that vegan eating and perhaps this mask have all but cleared up. I have battled HARD with acne since I was like 11. Changing products can cause my skin to go berserk but since this is all natural it had nothing but healing effects on my skin. My son is in the midst of really horrible teenage acne and it is helping to dry out the hundreds (it seems) of zits on his face and improve the overall look. You can leave it on less time if you consider your skin sensitive. It leaves your face quite red afterward but it goes away. I really think it is an amazing product! :)
Deletehey! we sell this at whole foods and I have been scared to try it because of my sensitive skin. i have hard it is AMAZING and i've heard about the pulsing too. i think i need to try it on my day off in case i turn bright red.
DeleteThanks! I'll give it a go and see what happens. Sounds like you and I have the same kind of skin, Lesley Jean. Maybe Rae and I can do it together and if we both stay red, we can just tell people that we just got back from a luxurious sunny resort and got a bit burned. : )
DeleteIt will cause redness but it goes away! The sunny luxury spa bit sounds perfect though!! :) lol
DeleteVery cool! I've never tried a face mask before, but perhaps I'll check this out! :) I like trying new things, and it seems easy enough!
ReplyDeleteSo super easy! My mom went on and on yesterday about how relaxed she felt from it. Ha!
DeleteApple Cider Vinegar is a Godsend, it dries your zits right up. I have ingrown pimples and it works wonders. I also try and ingest ACV everyday with a couple tablespoons in my water. Balances me out. My Mom has been trying to get my on the ACV tip my whole life and I finally started messing with it last year and its really helped with my skin and health. I swear by it!!
ReplyDeleteI had someone else tell me that but I have resisted since I hate the smell. I truly need to start drinking it, too!
DeleteI wish I could try this kind of stuff, but I've got such sensitive skin that I'm scared to put anything on it :/ every once in a while I'll just throw on some lemon juice, let it sit for about 10-15 minutes and wash it off, for me that works pretty good
ReplyDeleteWhatever works for you, dear! I definitely do the lemon juice bit on my knees and elbows and my hair sometime to pull all of the gunk off. :)
DeleteI loved this when I tried it. I actually used it to clarify my hair and scalp (when my hair was shorter), too. And I loved the result.
ReplyDeleteI have heard its wonderful for your hair, too! I'm scared I'll be rinsing for two days to get it off though. lol I use apple cider vinegar on my hair to clarify it from time to time.
Deletemy friend Mikiela insists that this is the one. I'm gonna have to try it.
ReplyDeleteIt sho' nuff is the one! I'm totally in love with it!
